Emergency Vehicle Operator Training

Municipalities have the option of designating the personal vehicles driven by their fire fighters as emergency vehicles, allowing volunteer fire fighters to use warning lights and sirens on their vehicles. However, to be eligible to use emergency warning devices, fire fighters must first complete a Civilian Emergency Vehicle Operator course.
