This office provides support and management to the Sask911 initiative to bring province-wide access to 9-1-1 emergency calling.

About 99% of the province is now covered by the Enhanced 9-1-1 call-taking system. Saskatchewan residents, no matter where they live or travel, wherever landlines exist, are able to access a trained emergency 9-1-1call-taking operator.

Callers will be connected to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) where the call-takers are able to identify the location, name, and phone number of the caller. This provides a distinct advantage to rural residents, people calling from an unfamiliar location, children, people in physical or emotional distress...anyone who may have difficulty communicating all of the information required for the call-taker to transfer the call to an emergency service provider (police, fire, ambulance).

You can also use a cellular phone or payphone to call 9-1-1.

Municipalities, regional health authorities, and the RCMP will continue to provide for the dispatch of emergency services to the public.
