Under the ministry's Violence Reduction Strategy, the Supportive Employment Initiative will help offenders connect with employers as a way to integrate back into the community.

The Saskatchewan Building and Accessibility Standards Appeal Board hears appeals from owners regarding:

  • application of the accessibility standards, and
  • orders issued by building officials for compliance with the building and accessibility standards. Applications for a hearing regarding an order must be submitted within 15 days of receiving the order.

Building owners may apply for an appeal hearing by submitting an appeal request to Building and Fire Safety. Applications must be made on the Request for Hearing form and be accompanied by supporting information and documentation. Applicants are encouraged to review additional information about the application requirements and appeal process.

Board members are nominated by organizations that are affected by the building and accessibility standards. They conduct hearings and reach decisions about application of the standards. Summaries of previous hearings are available in the Records of Decisions.

Building and Fire Safety provides administrative and technical support to the Board.
