Did You Know

In 2008-09, Corrections, Public Safety and Policing will establish specialized in-facility treatment units to deal with substance abuse among inmates.

Contact your insurance agent/broker to determine insurable losses/damages versus uninsurable losses/damages. (PDAP provides financial assistance for certain uninsurable, essential losses/damages.)

Contact your local municipal office to provide the location and value of uninsurable, essential losses/damages so the municipality can determine if the criteria have been met for the PDAP.

The Municipal Authority makes the request to access the program providing the details of its losses/damages and its residents' losses/damages.

PDAP applications are computer generated with specific details printed in specific areas once the municipality has been designated eligible for funding.

Get PDAP involved immediately, so the PDAP staff can assist claimants to complete applications. All claimants must submit information or details to the PDAP office.

The Municipal Authority distributes the applications, assists residents, collects and remits the applications to the PDAP office.

Adjusters are appointed to provide details and estimates.

Time Deadlines for Claims

Six (6) months to make application from the date of the disaster. The six month date is on the application.

One (1) year for completion of eligible repairs, restorations, and/or cleanup from the date of the disaster.

PDAP staff is available to assist all claimants through the process.

Assessments are for pre-disaster condition; then are subject to the cost-sharing formula.

There are limitations and in some instances, depreciation is applied to certain items before the cost-sharing formula is calculated.

There are maximums and applicable rates under the PDAP.
