Policing Services Division PolicingThere are currently 800 municipal police officers and 1,200 RCMP officers in Saskatchewan. This does not include the RCMP training academy in Regina. Police services in Saskatchewan cost $200 million a year. Policing is a local community responsibility. Communities can choose whether they have municipal police officers or RCMP officers providing prolice services. If you are interested in becoming a municipal police officer or a member of the RCMP, contact any police department or RCMP detachment.
