The Prism Industries' program provides meaningful work and related experiences to the inmates of Saskatchewan's correctional facilities. Using a hands on approach, the program is designed to give inmate employees practical skills and a basic work ethic, which will better enable them to obtain and maintain employment in the community after release.

The program operates eleven varied shops in four correctional centres in Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert. Customers and clients of Prism Industries include all levels of government, crown corporations, community organizations and private industry. Prism Industries' capabilities include the design, development and manufacturing of metal, wood and fabric products as well as assembly and repackaging.

Contracts with other government ministries serve to reduce the total cost of government within the province. Income generated by Prism Industries is used to defray the operational costs of the Correctional Centres. Earnings of inmates working in the program can be used to pay restitution, to support families in the community or to support themselves while incarcerated.
