The safety programs and related costs are directed at manufacturers, designers, installers, equipment operators and owners who create and benefit from the risks associated with the use of boiler and pressure vessel equipment, amusement rides and elevating devices. The public at large benefit from the safety programs administered. On October 1, 2008, the Licensing and Inspections Branch will be introducing increases to the fees charged under The Boiler and Pressure Vessel Regulation, The Passenger and Freight Elevator Regulations, 2003 and The Amusement Ride Safety Regulations. The fee increases are being implemented as a means of achieving greater cost recovery for the program areas. Details on the fee increases are further outlined within the amendment regulations. These regulations will be made available soon and can be found through our website. Please check back regularly. CORRECTION TO EXAM FEESThe Boiler and Pressure Vessel Amendment Regulations, 2008 incorrectly state that the schedule of examination fees for Fourth class power engineer, Part A and for Fourth class power engineer, Part B are $102 each. The correct fee is $51 each. We are working to correct this error and we hope it hasn't caused inconvenience for our stakeholders.
