The Office of the Fire Commissioner offers a variety of training courses for members of fire departments and emergency management organizations. Courses are offered at locations around the province to help people in local authorities build capacity in fire protection and emergency preparedness.

The OFC offers fire investigation training based on NFPA 1033 Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigator. These courses help investigators prepare for International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) certification. Check this link for the schedule of upcoming training.

Volunteer fire fighters may use their personal vehicles during an emergency, but they must complete the Emergency Vehicle Operator course before they can use emergency warning devices on their vehicles.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner is sponsoring several orientation sessions dealing with railroad emergencies and chemical products transported by road and rail.
