Adult Sentence Management and Services is comprised of two operational areas - Community Operations and Institutional Operations - plus Case Management Services.
Adult Corrections employs a case management approach that evaluates each offender's risks and needs, and determines the combination of programs with the best likelihood of success in rehabilitation.

Case management involves rehabilitation and correctional programming for inmates while they are in custody in institutions, and also for offenders re-integrating into the community. Core Intervention programs help offenders address issues such as substance abuse, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, anger management, violence and aggression. Other programs help offenders build the basic literacy, planning, decision-making, employment, life and parenting skills they will require to make constructive contributions in their community.

Programs and services to protect public safety, while supporting offenders' re-integration into the community.

Providing services to sentenced and remanded offenders while the are in custody in correctional centres, community training residences and correctional camps.

Intervention strategies to address offenders' specific issues, with support from community resources.

A two-part process assessing an offender's risk to re-offend, and identifying their rehabilitation and correctional needs.
